Condensate Stabilizer

Condensate stabilizers are commonly used to separate lighter hydrocarbons and other gases from hydrocarbon liquids. The liquid hydrocarbon condensate is stabilized to allow for storage and transportation of liquid hydrocarbon condensate at atmospheric pressures. Condensate stabilization meets the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) of 9-12 PSI.

Standard Packages

Spitzer Standard Condensate Stabilizer units are designed with two separate packages. The Absorber Tower package and the TEG Regeneration package. The absorber tower package and TEG regeneration package can combined in different configurations to meet the client’s product gas specifications and design requirements.

Process Description

The hydrocarbon condensate feed is flashed to a low pressure of 100 to 200 PSIG at the inlet of the stabilizer unit. After passing through inlet filtration and the stabilizer cross exchanger the heated condensate liquid enters the top of the stabilizer tower. After entering the stabilizer tower the condensate will run counter current to the heated gas rising from the reboiler. This will remove the higher dewpoint hydrocarbons as a product vapor to the stabilizer overhead line. The stabilized liquid from the stabilizer tower bottoms in cooled in the cross exchanger and sent to tankage for storage.
